From the description: A memoir told in short stories inspired by Red (Taylor’s Version). Each song on the track list is a different chapter of my life. Themes of friendship, partnership, career, and the heartbreak of realizing the shortcomings of your parents are present throughout the collection. Treacherous details the decision to leave classroom teaching for my wellbeing. Three Years reflects on the conversation to go no-contact with my mother. Not Much Has is an anthem of appreciation for my longest-running friendship. Directed Glare ponders on why people abandon their shopping carts in big warehouse stores. Come along with me as we find what it means to grow up in only the way Taylor Swift can inspire.

How did it come to be?

I was feeling inspired on the three year anniversary of going no-contact with my mom, thinking about how many lyrics from All Too Well were resonating with me. Taylor Swift has always written in a way with universal themes. After finishing that story, I devoured Red (Taylor’s Version), looking through pages of lyrics and finding how many stories of mine were relatable to her words. I was able to write the entirety of twenty-eight stories in a pretty short period of time, only skipping the duplicate State of Grace (Acoustic) and the abridged All Too Well.

This book will likely serve as my most personally meaningful piece of work and I look forward to seeing the response. If you’ve already purchased the book, thank you from the bottom of my heart. And if you’re interested in it, I hope you find it meaningful.
